Yamaha was founded in 1887 by Torakusu Yamaha in Japan, began as a manufacturer of reed organs and quickly expanded into piano production by 1900. With its long tradition of craftsmanship and innovation, Yamaha established itself as a global leader in the piano industry. The company is known for merging traditional Japanese woodworking techniques with cutting-edge technology, producing high-quality instruments that are reliable, durable, and musically exceptional. Over the years, Yamaha has continued to refine its manufacturing processes, incorporating advanced materials and precision engineering, which has allowed it to compete at the highest levels in both the mass market and the concert stage.

Most mid 1970’s Yamaha grands on the market have hammer felts that are worn in which causes the sound to be “bright” and sometimes “harsh”. That is not the case with this Yamaha G3 grand at all. In fact, the the tone is balanced and full across all the notes. The action has a smooth response which makes the piano effortless to play.
Another benefit of this grand is that we installed 3 brand new casters on each leg as well as re-felted the music desk rail.
All in all, this would make a great upgrade to a buyer who owns that first “entry level” upright and wants a quality instrument, but at a more affordable price compared against new grands on the market.
Local delivery (within 30 miles of our store to a ground level location) of a grand this size would typically cost $600, and is included at no extra charge with purchase.
