Yamaha TransAcoustic Grand Piano

One of the newest pianos at the store is the Yamaha TransAcoustic. We are quite fortunate to have a grand piano version of this marvelous instrument!

Why is the TransAcoustic piano so special? Yamaha puts it this way:

The TransAcoustic™ Piano introduces a new way for piano players to emotionally connect with their instrument. The touch of the keys, the embodiment of sound, the resonance of strings; TransAcoustic Technology enhances the playing experience by using all elements of the acoustic piano to augment and amplify non-acoustic sounds. This means that any sound can be delivered through this naturally resonant piano.

In essence, the piano is one big speaker that has the capability of playing as both an acoustic piano and a digital piano with multiple instrument sounds. The volume can be adjusted in real time so sound levels can be lowered or raised in any given environment. Sounds can be layered over each other as well.

In addition, the grand piano has a Silent Piano function, allowing for a player to play with headphones privately. Recordings can be made and saved to a USB drive for sharing online.

But don’t just take our word for it! Here’s a video showcasing the technology that is worth a viewing:
