  • bernice1Has taught at California Keyboards since 2001
  • Has an Associate of Arts in Music from Bakersfield College; studied under Professor Howard Quilling, Professor Dale Brooks, Professor Robert Olivares, and Doctor Charles (Chuck) Wood

  • Participated in Bakersfield College Choir with Masterworks Chorale in the original “King of Glory” Pageant and various BC choir performances locally, San Francisco and Northern California

  • Is a member of Sweet Adeline’s International  (a professional Barbershop A cappella female vocal chorus) local chapter South Valley Sound Chorus

  • Served 14 years as Music/Choral Director/Pianist for a local (bilingual) church and 10 years as Church Pianist/Accompanist for Central Baptist Church and occasional substituting as Pianist for Height Street Baptist Church

  • Other areas of piano and/or vocal performances includes weddings and funerals (bilingual)

  • Emphasis on music theory, sight reading, technique, fingering skills, ear training, music appreciation, and pop symbols

  • Vocal emphasis on breathing techniques, posture, stage presentation, proper use of microphone, ear training, sight reading and solfegge vocalizing

  • Student ages range from 6 years to 70+

  • Accepting students for afternoon and evening: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
